In a tragic incident at Neduvathur, three individuals, including a firefighter, died in a botched rescue attempt early Monday. Authorities identified the deceased as Archana of Neduvathur, her friend Shivakrishnan, and Soni S Kumar, a firefighter.

The incident unfolded when the Kottarakkara fire station received a distress call around midnight about a woman who had leapt into an 80-foot-deep well. A rescue team was dispatched promptly.

As firefighter Kumar attempted the rescue, the well's parapet collapsed, causing both him and Archana to fall. Shivakrishnan, standing nearby, also fell into the well. Despite efforts to save them, all three succumbed to their injuries. An investigation is ongoing, with police suspecting personal reasons behind Archana's actions.
