At least 36 individuals attending a trade expo in Aizawl, Mizoram, were detained for not possessing valid Inner Line Permits (ILPs), a requirement for outsiders entering the state, according to a police officer.

The incident occurred during a verification drive conducted by the Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) and Mizoram Merchant Association (MIMA) at the international star expo held at Lammual. Those detained either held expired permits or lacked the necessary documentation.

MZP and MIMA expressed regret and critiqued participating individuals for not having valid ILPs. They also questioned law enforcement's vigilance and effectiveness in upholding ILP regulations.
