The Supreme Court has instructed singer and activist Neha Singh Rathore to face trial after deciding not to dismiss an FIR related to her social media commentary on the Pahalgam terror incident. Rathore's appeal against the High Court's decision was not entertained, and the court clarified it expressed no opinion regarding the case's merits.

The bench comprising Justices J K Maheshwari and Kuldeep Bishnoi stated they would not intervene in the allegations of 'charge of mutiny' at this stage, which involve potential threats to India's sovereignty and unity. They granted Rathore the liberty to contest these charges during the framing phase.

Filed in late April, the FIR by Abhay Pratap Singh claims Rathore incited religious tensions and threatened national unity through her posts. Rathore argues she is wrongfully accused under several sections, including promoting communal discord and violating the Information Technology Act.
