A fatal fire in west Delhi's Tilak Nagar resulted in the death of 52-year-old Sunil Kumar Ginotra, authorities reported on Monday.
The inferno consumed the ground floor of the building and was contained by fire officials. Police received an emergency call and upon arrival, discovered Ginotra's severely burned body inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his remains were transported to DDU Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Initial investigations suggest the cause of the fire was a short circuit in the property, which serves as an office-cum-godown. Ginotra was alone during the incident, and no foul play is currently suspected. Further forensic analysis is awaited to definitively determine how the tragic event began. The property is owned by Ginotra's cousin. Police and forensic teams are analyzing evidence collected from the site.
