Officials arrested Davinder Singh of Ludhiana, who was allegedly transporting the cows to a slaughterhouse under inhumane conditions. The animals were discovered crammed inside the truck, showcasing a clear violation of the law.
The accused faces multiple charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Punjab Prohibition of Cow Slaughter Act, 1955, and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. A thorough investigation is ongoing, according to police reports.
