In Sri Sathyasai district, a tragic explosion on Wednesday claimed four lives and left 29 wounded after gelatin sticks caught fire in a residential home. The blast occurred following a gas leak during tea preparation, escalating into a deadly inferno, according to authorities.
Sri Sathyasai district superintendent of police S Satish revealed that the incident involved 150 gelatin sticks, inadvertently turning a small kitchen fire into a massive blast. A man named Venkanna, unfamiliar with the dangers posed by these explosives, stored them illegally after using them for rock blasting work.
This incident underscores the risks associated with unauthorized possession of explosives, often overlooked. Police have filed a case under the Explosive Substances Act, highlighting the need for stringent regulations and awareness to prevent such tragedies in the future.
