Faridabad Woman Duped: Four Arrested in Cyber Fraud Case
Four individuals were arrested in Patna for allegedly defrauding a woman from Faridabad of over Rs 2.5 lakh. The suspects promised to take her to England, deceiving her through WhatsApp. The accused have been remanded in custody and are being interrogated by Faridabad police.

Four persons were apprehended in Patna for allegedly swindling a Faridabad woman of Rs 2.5 lakh, according to officials on Tuesday. The suspects, charged with cyber fraud, were taken into police custody for five days as declared by a city court.
According to the police reports, the arrests were made on Sunday. The accused include Ankit and Ravikant, both 25, from Munger district, Bittu, also 25, from Jamui district, and Akhir Alam, 23, from Araria district, all in Bihar. The woman had filed a complaint at the Cyber Police Station, NIT, stating the fraud began in January 2026 when a WhatsApp caller, posing as a friend, promised to take her to England.
Over the course of two months, she transferred over Rs 2.5 lakh as instructed by the con artist. An investigation revealed that the suspects withdrew the cash and redeposited it as directed. Police underscored that the interrogation of all four suspects continues.
