Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik announced on Wednesday the seizure of illegal assets, including cash, gold, liquor, and drugs worth Rs 1,262 crore, ahead of upcoming state polls.
The Election Commission, taking multiple steps to ensure a fair election process, has lodged 163 FIRs related to various violations and removed over 2,180 URLs from different social media platforms. The state boasts a total voter strength of 5.73 crore, with significant first-time voter registration.
To facilitate an inclusive voting experience, 75,064 polling stations have been established, featuring innovative model stations managed by women and persons with disabilities. Security remains paramount, with 300 companies of Central Armed Police Forces alongside local police to maintain order.
