In a decisive move to galvanize India's civil service, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has penned a series of letters to over a crore civil servants, rallying them around the central tenet of 'Nagrikdevo Bhava' — the notion that the citizen is akin to a deity in governance.
In his correspondence, dispatched ahead of Civil Services Day, Modi underscored the importance of compassion in public service and emphasized that civil servants should embody the principles of lifelong learning. To that end, the messages were communicated in 12 languages to ensure a broad reach across various government entities.
During a festive period marked by traditional celebrations, the Prime Minister praised civil servants for their commitment to a 'Viksit Bharat'.
