The Telangana High Court has offered a significant reprieve to BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao and others by ruling that no actions should be grounded on the findings from the PC Ghose Commission. This Commission investigated the disputed Kaleshwaram irrigation project, pointing out procedural breaches.
The bench, comprising Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G M Mohiuddin, acknowledged the legality of the Commission's formation, but highlighted that the findings adversely impacted the petitioners, breaching natural justice principles and statutory safeguards per the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1952.
Despite the commission's initial report implicating KCR and former minister T Harish Rao, the High Court emphasized the fundamental flaws within the inquiry, thereby nullifying the current potential for CBI action based on the report.
