GJC's New SOPs: Ensuring Transparent Policing in Maharashtra's Jewellery Industry

The All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) has unveiled new guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for theft investigations within Maharashtra's jewellery sector. These measures are crafted to assure fairness and transparency, as well as to hold policing practices accountable.

As a proactive leader, GJC has not only interpreted these guidelines but has also structured them for easy adoption. The SOPs are available in several languages, such as Marathi, English, and Hindi, to ensure comprehensive understanding by jewellers. This concerted effort aims to fortify trust between the trading community and law enforcement agencies.

'This initiative is pivotal for protecting the rights of legitimate jewellery traders and fostering an open, accountable atmosphere,' remarked GJC chairman Rajesh Rokde. By guiding the industry with precise instructions, GJC aims to empower jewellers and promote collaboration with authorities, said vice chairman Avinash Gupta.
