Man Arrested For Rs 1.2 Crore Extortion in Jharkhand

In a significant development, a man named Jay Prakash Shukla has been apprehended on charges of extortion amounting to Rs 1.2 crore in Jharkhand's Palamu district. Shukla, who is already a wanted individual in multiple criminal cases, was arrested on Tuesday.
The arrest comes in the aftermath of an FIR registered by victim Nand Kumar Yadav, a land dealer, who accused Shukla of demanding the hefty sum via a phone call. Medininagar SDPO Rajeev Ranjan confirmed the arrest and revealed Shukla was engaged in a longstanding land dispute with Yadav.
According to the investigation, Shukla not only has a history of criminal activities but also faces five criminal cases across three different districts. The suspect has been remanded to judicial custody as further inquiries continue.
