A woman and child have lost their lives following a devastating drone attack on the Russian city of Syzran, a regional governor reported. The tragic incident also resulted in 12 injuries.
Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, governor of the Samara region, condemned the attack on two apartment buildings as a crime against civilians, urging that it shared communal grief. Fortunately, rescue operations concluded with no additional casualties reported.
While both Russia and Ukraine deny targeting civilians, tensions have escalated amid stalled U.S.-brokered peace talks. Meanwhile, attacks on energy infrastructure have increased, with a significant oil refinery located close to the impacted area in Syzran.
