Tensions have escalated in Manipur's Ukhrul district following violent clashes between armed groups from rival tribal communities, resulting in three deaths and property destruction. Security forces recovered two bodies, identified as L Sitlhou and P Haolai, in camouflage outfits with bullet wounds near Mullam village, as confirmed by officials. This followed a heavy exchange of gunfire earlier in the morning, which also saw several homes set ablaze.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a young man named H Jamang was killed in an ambush near Sinakeithei village. Community organizations have expressed profound sadness over the killings, demanding a swift investigation into the violence that has further frayed relations between the tribal groups.
