Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the significant role of Panchayati Raj institutions in rural development during a conference held to mark National Panchayati Raj Day. Addressing Panchayat representatives at Pt Deendayal Upadhyay auditorium in Raipur, Sai underscored the importance of an active grassroots approach in implementing government schemes.
Sai pointed out that initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have transformed rural housing, while schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana enhanced village connectivity. He also noted that Atal Digital Service Centres have made essential services more accessible to rural populations, thus boosting the rural economy.
Underlining the proactive involvement of Panchayat representatives in development projects, Sai advocated for their continuous monitoring to ensure quality. He highlighted upcoming initiatives like Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 that aims to provide clean drinking water. Furthermore, 'Sushasan Tihar' aims to address public grievances through village camps, seeking local participation.
