Punjab is gearing up for a digital transformation with Census 2027, enhanced by comprehensive administrative enhancements and the deployment of approximately 67,000 enumerators and supervisors, officials announced on Friday.
For the first time, self-enumeration is being introduced through a digital platform, marking a significant shift in the census process. This modern approach ensures the collection of essential socio-economic information critical for development planning and service improvements within the region.
Navjot Khosa, Director of the Directorate of Census Operations in Punjab and UT Chandigarh, detailed the planned initiatives, emphasizing the importance of public participation and data confidentiality. Residents are encouraged to utilize the online portal for self-enumeration, set to run from April 30 to June 13, 2027.
