In a major step toward strengthening India’s vocational education and skill certification ecosystem, the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) has formally granted Awarding Body (AB – Dual) recognition to the Department of Employment and Training (DET), Telangana.
The agreement, signed on April 24, 2026, empowers DET Telangana to assess, certify, and award qualifications directly to trainees undergoing skill development programmes in its own institutions and affiliated centres, marking a significant advancement in decentralised and industry-aligned skilling frameworks.
Strengthening State-Level Skill Certification
With this recognition, DET Telangana will be eligible to:
-
Conduct training, assessment, and certification under a unified framework
-
Deliver programmes through ITI campuses, Advanced Technology Centers (ATCs), and empanelled partners

Offer approved and industry-relevant qualifications aligned with national standards
This move is expected to enhance efficiency, credibility, and scalability in skill training delivery across the state.

Toward a Scalable, Quality-Driven Skill Ecosystem
The NCVET recognition of DET Telangana represents a shift toward more agile, decentralised, and outcome-oriented skill systems, where states play a proactive role in designing and delivering training aligned with local and global industry needs.
