In a concerted effort to bolster security, the Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat, conducted a comprehensive review meeting on Friday. The focus was on assessing and strengthening the safety grid at the cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and its base camp in Katra.
Attended by key police officials including IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti and DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Shiv Kumar Sharma, the meeting saw the issuance of specific directives aimed at safeguarding these critical locations. The enhanced measures are part of a broader strategy to maintain law and order in the region.
A roadmap for the ongoing anti-drug campaign 'Nasha Mukt Abhiyan' was also laid out. Under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha's directions, police were instructed to adopt a rigorous approach to drug crimes. This includes prompt registration of FIRs, attachment of properties gained through narcotics, and the application of preventive detention laws against habitual offenders.
