Police have opened a case concerning the vandalism of public toilets in Kedarnath, following a complaint lodged by Mintu Pathak, a supervisor for Sulabh International. The organization is responsible for maintaining these facilities.

Officials reported that significant damage occurred, including broken doors, water taps, and toilet cisterns in multiple locations, such as Hat Bazaar and behind the PWD office.

A case has been filed against unknown culprits under the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984, highlighting the severe inconvenience caused to the devotees. Authorities have commenced an investigation into this destruction.
