Authorities have arrested two individuals, Tushar Chauhan from Meerut and Sameer Khan from Delhi, on suspicion of collaborating with Pakistani-based handlers for potential disruptive activities. According to sources, the arrests were made as part of a wider investigation into sleeper cells allegedly coordinated via social media.
Despite claims from Chauhan's family that he is mentally unstable and lacks terrorist affiliations, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) remains vigilant. Family members expressed their willingness to sever ties should evidence against him suffice.
The ATS investigation revealed connections between the suspects and notorious Pakistani figures, aiming to destabilize Indian harmony through radicalization of youth and proposed attacks. Recovered items include weapons and social media communication records with alleged handlers.
