In a shocking turn of events, a 30-year-old man named Christy has turned himself in to the Kelakom police after allegedly murdering his mother, Geethamma, at their Kanichar home near Peravoor. Police confirmed the surrender on Saturday.
Geethamma, 53, was found with fatal stab wounds to her neck, reportedly inflicted by Christy late Friday evening. According to the police First Information Report (FIR), the incident happened between 8 pm and 9 pm, purportedly motivated by local rumors besmirching Geethamma's character.
Geethamma was known in the community both as a beauty parlour owner and a political activist with the BJP Mahila Morcha. Christy, described by relatives as possibly involved with drugs, left his college studies uncompleted in Bengaluru before returning home. Police investigations continue as the community grapples with the aftermath of this familial tragedy.
