Gujarat Elections: Security Tightened with Three-Tier Setup

In a bid to ensure smooth local body elections in Gujarat on April 26, a comprehensive three-tier security framework has been established. This includes CCTV surveillance and deployment of special squads, as confirmed by Director General of Police KLN Rao.
The robust security arrangement spans 29,000 polling buildings and over 49,000 stations, with the participation of local police, State Reserve Police, Central forces, and Home Guards, among others. Additionally, 113 inter-state and intra-district checkpoints are operational.
Efforts to curb discrepancies have seen execution of around 3,000 non-bailable warrants. Surveillance has been fortified through advanced CCTV networks and social media is under strict monitoring to prevent election disruption, per DGP Rao's address in Gandhinagar.
