A Crime Branch team conducted a raid on the official residence of the District Forest Officer (DFO) of South Tripura, Gaurav Ravindra Wagh, following a major cash recovery at Agartala railway station. The raid resulted in the seizure of important documents, CCTV footage, a laptop, and a drone camera.

The investigation was sparked when Rajendra Chintaman Kaklij, a relative of the DFO from Mumbai, was caught with Rs 59.94 lakh in cash during a routine check at the station. His inability to provide a credible source for the money led to his arrest under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Authorities revealed that Kaklij used the DFO's official vehicle for travel, prompting the case to be handed over to the Crime Branch for a thorough investigation. Meanwhile, the DFO has been called to Aryana Bhavan for further inquiries regarding the incident.
