An FIR was registered on Saturday in Bengaluru against a local resident, accused of obstructing and verbally abusing female officials working on the National Census-2027 project, according to local police.

The incidents occurred between April 20 and April 25 in Ward No 43 of the R T Nagar area, as outlined in the complaint by Lokesh S P, Census Charge Officer for Bengaluru North City Corporation. Initially, enumerator Veena attempted to collect census data on April 20 but was met with resistance.

Further attempts were made on April 25 when Supervisor Rashmi R revisited the location for verification, encountering similar hostility. In response to the obstructive actions, charges were filed under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police are conducting further investigations, and local authorities urge public cooperation in future census activities.
