In a heart-wrenching incident in Faridabad, a woman allegedly killed her 18-month-old daughter by throwing her into a drain, police reported. The crime unfolded on April 23 near Dheeraj Nagar, leaving the local community shocked and searching for answers.
The child's body was discovered entangled in an iron mesh along a drain by two schoolchildren. Following this discovery, a detailed investigation by the Crime Branch led to the review of CCTV footage. This footage revealed the mother, Neelam, carrying the child before returning alone.
Neelam, originally from Madhubani in Bihar and residing in Faridabad, confessed to committing the heinous act. According to police sources, she was overwhelmed by poverty and the burden of raising six daughters. Financial distress reportedly drove her to such a desperate decision, highlighting the pressing need for social support systems.
