A collision involving an autorickshaw and a motorcycle led to widespread violence in Neknoor village, Beed district, Maharashtra. Communities clashed Saturday night near the bus stand, escalating tensions in the region.
In the aftermath of the accident, which involved autorickshaw driver Ranjit Lokhande, assaults occurred, prompting a complaint. Lokhande's family members, traveling with him, were reportedly targeted when attempting to intervene.
Authorities moved swiftly as prohibitory orders were defied and stone-pelting intensified. Neknoor's weekly bazaar, a significant market in Marathwada, was closed to curb the unrest. Police identified and filed cases against 31 individuals, alongside others unknown, for their roles in the chaos.
