Tensions Escalate: Israel Orders Evacuation in Southern Lebanon
Israel has issued evacuation orders for seven towns in southern Lebanon amid ongoing hostilities with Hezbollah, despite a U.S.-mediated ceasefire. Israeli military accuses Hezbollah of violating the ceasefire, while Hezbollah vows to continue attacks. Over 2,500 have died in recent conflicts, with both sides trading blame.
In a significant escalation of tensions, Israel has issued new evacuation orders for residents in southern Lebanon. The orders target seven towns beyond the so-called buffer zone, where Israeli troops have remained active despite a stated ceasefire.
The Israeli military accuses Hezbollah of violating the ceasefire agreement, prompting the evacuation as a security measure. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed the importance of Israel's security, aligning actions with agreements made with the U.S. and Lebanon.
The situation remains dire as Hezbollah continues its attacks, citing ineffective diplomacy and lack of government protection. Recent clashes have resulted in over 2,500 deaths, with both sides bearing losses and accusing each other of ceasefire breaches.
