In a shocking incident from Annamayya district, followers of TDP MLA A Surendra Babu are accused of physically assaulting toll plaza workers over a delay in vehicle clearance at the Gandaboyinapalle toll plaza. Videos allegedly depicting their aggressive conduct went viral, capturing scenes of them kicking, dragging, and pushing staff members, including a female worker.
Police reports suggest that tensions flared after the MLA's luxury SUV was briefly halted due to prior vehicles making online payments. An alleged misunderstanding led to the MLA's entourage vandalizing the plaza, forcibly breaking toll barriers, and attacking staff members, including a female worker, M Srilatha.
Gandaboyinapalle toll plaza manager N Ravi Babu narrated his ordeal, recalling how he was dragged and assaulted while trying to mediate. A police inquiry into the incident is ongoing, aiming to bring the perpetrators to justice.
