Belarus and Poland are swapping prisoners, Belta reports

Belarus and Poland are carrying out a five-for-five prisoner exchange at their shared border, Belarus's state news agency Belta reported. Among those freed by Belarus is journalist Andrzej Poczobut, who was arrested in March 2021 and sentenced to eight years in prison in Belarus in 2023 on charges of inciting ethnic hostility and undermining Belarusian security.
Poczobut is of Polish origin and Poland described the verdict at the time as politically motivated.
