The skeletal remains of a person, who had been missing since June 2022, were recovered in Jharkhand's Bokaro district, police said on Wednesday. Bokaro SP Nathu Singh Meena said the remains, including a skull, three bones, and some clothes, were recovered on Monday after digging up a grave at the Bharra graveyard within Chira Chas police station limits. ''Police recovered the remains of the deceased Khalid Ansari (32), a resident of Barmasiya in Chandankyari, based on information provided by his two close friends, who were arrested on suspicion,'' the SP said. ''It seems that the recovered clothes belong to the deceased, however, official confirmation on this will only be made after the DNA report,'' Meena said. ''During interrogation, accused Mohammad Allauddin alias Guddu and Shyamuddin of Guaush Nagar confessed that they had killed the victim by striking his head with an iron rod after an altercation with him over money and a woman. Both accused were sent to judicial custody on Tuesday,'' the SP told PTI. On 16 June 2022, police lodged a missing person's complaint at Chira Chas police station based on a written complaint by the deceased's father, Noor Mohammad Ansari, he said. Police have launched a detailed investigation into the matter to determine the sequence of incidents and to apprehend anyone else involved, he said.
