German police have arrested a Kazakh national on suspicion of ‌spying for a foreign intelligence service, including sending information to Russia about military ‌support for Ukraine and the German defence industry, federal prosecutors said on Wednesday. The suspect, identified only as Sergei ‌K. in line with German privacy laws, is believed ‌to have been in contact with Russia's intelligence service from Germany since May 2025 at the latest, prosecutors said in a statement.
