The Supreme Court of India has declared that the Advocates-on-Record Examination will not take place in 2026, taking into account the existing number of Advocates-on-Record (AoRs).
An AoR is a credentialed lawyer permitted to act and advocate for clients in the Supreme Court, responsible for filing appearances and petitions.
The examination schedule for 2027 will be announced accordingly, as the total AoR count reaches 3,791 as of April 2026.
