In a devastating day for Shahjahanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, two separate road accidents led to the loss of eight lives, as confirmed by local police authorities. The incidents unfolded on Thursday, causing shock and sorrow across the community.
The first accident involved a car returning from a bride's ceremonial send-off, tragically colliding with a tanker near Rautapur village. The collision claimed the lives of the driver and three women, all of whom had been joyous participants in post-wedding celebrations. Superintendent of Police, Saurabh Dixit, provided these details as loved ones mourn the abrupt loss.
Shortly thereafter, tragedy struck again on a four-lane bypass under Powayan police station where a family's motorcycle was struck by an SUV, resulting in the deaths of Arun, Seema, and their young children, Diksha and Naitik. Law enforcement is actively pursuing the SUV driver who fled the scene, leaving a community grappling with grief.
