A stabbing incident unfolded at Foss High School in Tacoma, Washington, leaving four students and a security guard injured. The suspect, a student, was apprehended and also sustained injuries, authorities reported on Thursday.
Emergency services, including the Tacoma Fire Department, swiftly responded to the scene following a report of a potential stabbing around 1:38 pm. They transported five individuals, four in critical condition and one with minor injuries, to local hospitals. The suspected assailant was also taken into custody with minor injuries.
The school initiated a lockdown shortly after the incident, which ended with students being safely dismissed by 2:45 pm. Counseling support will be available when the school reopens on Monday. Authorities praised the quick and composed actions of staff and first responders.
