In an alarming breach of duty, a Delhi Police constable has been arrested in connection with a high-profile robbery case involving Rs 50 lakh. Officials confirmed on Friday that the accused, Samay Singh, orchestrated the heist with a gang near the Azad Market underpass.
Authorities revealed that on March 31, four armed men intercepted an auto-rickshaw and fled with the bounty. Although several accomplices have been detained, Singh had evaded capture until law enforcement tracked him down in Rajasthan's Dausa through CCTV imagery and technical surveillance.
Described as a habitual offender, Singh's involvement in other major robbery cases is under investigation. Meanwhile, efforts continue to recover the stolen money and identify additional crimes linked to him.
