Congress senior spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi emphasized that when personal liberty is threatened, courts are our ultimate hope. He criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's remarks against Khera and urged reconsideration, as such language does not befit a constitutional position.
Jairam Ramesh, Congress general secretary, hailed the verdict as a triumph for constitutional values, alleging frequent assaults under the BJP regime. Singhvi stressed that arrest should be the last resort in defamation cases, emphasizing the importance of preserving political dissent and free speech.
