In a major breakthrough, Mumbai police have arrested a suspect and seized over 500 grams of heroin worth Rs 2.54 crore in the illegal market, officials revealed on Friday.
The operation was executed by the Anti-Narcotics Cell's (ANC) Kandivali unit, as part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the city's western suburbs.
Following specific intelligence inputs, an ANC team conducted a targeted raid in Santacruz (East) on Thursday, leading to the arrest and formal charging of the suspect under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Investigations to trace the drug's source and recipients continue.
