A warden and a cook from a private boarding school in Punalur have been apprehended for allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old student. The incident unfolded following suspicions of theft, with the student accused of stealing Rs 500 from the cook.
The boy was reportedly hung upside down by the cook, and the warden is said to have assisted in this act, according to police reports from Punalur station. Fortunately, the victim has not suffered any health issues as a result of the assault and is reportedly fine.
The incident came to light after the student confided in his parents, prompting his father to lodge a formal complaint. Both suspects have been charged under the Juvenile Justice Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and are now facing legal proceedings.
