In a decisive move against land fraud, authorities in Uttarakhand's Garhwal region have mandated the immediate registration of FIRs for 24 major cases. The directive came after a high-level review meeting led by Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, who examined 125 cases in total.
The focus was on illegal land encroachments and fraudulent maneuvers involving land records. Notable infractions included selling land not owned by the seller and manipulating land survey numbers to deceive buyers.
Commissioner Pandey highlighted that rigorous reviews of these cases now occur biweekly, with law enforcement directed to take strict and prompt action against the wrongdoers in the identified cases.
