A new conflict emerged over the weekend as Russia reported the capture of Myropillia, a village in Ukraine's Sumy region, asserting it has expelled Ukrainian troops. According to Russia's Defence Ministry, motorized units, supported by drones, successfully took control.
The Ministry released footage claiming to show effective aerial strikes in support of these claims. However, Ukraine's military was quick to refute the reports. A post by the Kursk group on Facebook labeled the Russian announcement a 'complete lie', asserting that Ukrainian forces retain control and that no enemy advance has occurred.
While both sides hold to their claims, Reuters confirmed that the battlefield reports could not be independently verified, leaving the true state of affairs in Myropillia shrouded in uncertainty.
