In a significant drug seizure, Navi Mumbai police arrested a man in possession of mephedrone valued at Rs 86 lakh. The arrest took place during a routine patrol early Saturday, officials confirmed.
Ravi Khatik, a local resident, was apprehended near a housing complex in Ulwe. Police found 344 grams of the illegal substance, also known as MD, on him. Following his arrest, Khatik was charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
During questioning, Khatik revealed that two individuals had given him the contraband for sale. Law enforcement officials are currently pursuing these leads to apprehend the remaining suspects.
