A key associate of notorious gangster Kapil Sangwan has been detained in relation to a Rs 2 crore extortion demand, authorities revealed on Sunday. Identified as Kaptan alias Tanna, 33, the suspect has managed to elude capture for over a year and is a crucial member of the notorious Nandu gang.
The police stated that the extortion case involved Kapil Sangwan's gang attempting to extort Rs 2 crore from a resident in Delhi. When the targeted individual refused payment, the gang allegedly conducted surveillance and filmed videos to instill fear.
Following a tip-off about Kaptan's movements in Deenpur, law enforcement executed a successful operation leading to his arrest. Kaptan's criminal history includes violent crimes such as murder and robbery. Further investigations are underway to uncover additional gang connections and illegal arms supply routes.
