In a significant narcotics crackdown, the Himachal Pradesh Police's Anti-Chitta team arrested three Una district residents. The operation, conducted on Sunday, led to the recovery of more than a kilogram of 'chitta', or adulterated heroin, from the suspects' possession.
The detainees, named Raman, 41, Gurmukh, 40, and Sarvajeet, 28, were intercepted by police while traveling in a car near Virbhadra Chowk towards Nagran road. The special task force, led by ASP Renu Sharma, uncovered the illegal substance concealed within articles of clothing during the vehicle search.
The accused have been taken into custody, and their vehicle seized. Authorities are investigating the origins of the drug consignment, its procurement methods, and intended destination. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered, and further probes are underway, the police confirmed.
