A disturbing case has emerged in Maharashtra's Beed district, where a 54-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his granddaughter, aged three. The case, registered by the Yusuf Wadgaon police, cites multiple instances of abuse that reportedly occurred between April 16 and 25.
The child's mother, who had been residing at her parent's home due to issues in her marriage, discovered the appalling situation alongside the grandmother. Seeking assistance from an NGO, they reported the matter to the local authorities, which led to the immediate legal action.
The accused was presented in court and is currently in police custody for a three-day remand. The case proceeds under the stringent measures of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
