The Telangana government is handing over an inquiry report on alleged power-purchase agreement irregularities during the prior BRS rule to the CBI. Justice Madan B Lokur, a former Supreme Court judge, prepared the 114-page document, highlighting misappropriations.
Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced the decision post-cabinet meeting. The inquiry uncovered misuse of public funds and corruption in power plant construction. It prompted the government's move to involve the CBI due to the interstate nature of these agreements.
The cabinet also discussed other critical measures including land-registration charge revisions and bringing polytechnic colleges under Young India Skills University. Additionally, plans for solar plant installations and procurement of crops were outlined.
