Encounter in Mallawan: Wanted Criminal Killed by Police
A 32-year-old criminal, Mehnoor, wanted for the rape and murder of a minor boy, was killed in a police encounter in Mallawan. The police, informed by a tip-off, confronted Mehnoor. In a significant development in Mallawan, a criminal wanted for the horrific rape and murder of a young boy has been neutralized by police forces. The incident unfolded on Wednesday morning when police confronted Mehnoor, the accused, who has been the prime suspect in the recent crime.
Acting swiftly, a joint team of local law enforcement and the Special Operations Group (SOG) cornered Mehnoor. In the ensuing exchange, the accused opened fire, injuring an SOG officer. Mehnoor was critically wounded in the return firing and succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
The suspect, a habitual offender from Kannauj district with a long criminal history, had complicated the investigation by making a misleading ransom demand. Police recovered firearms and a motorcycle at the scene. Authorities had offered a reward for his capture, underscoring the severity of his crimes.
