West Bengal Ministers Skirt ED Summons Amid Recruitment Scam Probe

Two ministers from West Bengal have skipped a scheduled appearance with the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is investigating a recruitment scam. The Trinamool Congress leaders, Sujit Bose and Rathin Ghosh, cited personal reasons for their non-appearance before the central agency on Wednesday.

Ghosh claimed a leg injury required him to rest, rendering him immobile, while Bose stated he was involved in addressing post-poll violence affecting party workers. This isn't the first time the leaders have postponed their engagements with the ED, having cited election responsibilities earlier.

Fresh dates for their appearance are expected soon. Both ministers had been involved uniquely in the recent elections, with Ghosh securing a victory and Bose failing to regain his seat. ED officials have stressed that further summons will be arranged.
