A dramatic rescue unfolded in Odisha's Nayagarh district when a 14-year-old boy found himself ensnared in a stone crevice next to a python. The boy, identified as Shiba Pradhan, had ventured into the Kanipada forest with his uncle to collect honey, only to become trapped.
Officials reported a tense scene as fire personnel and rescue teams from nearby areas converged to free the boy in a challenging six-hour effort. Using modern equipment, they carefully removed large stones to reach Pradhan without provoking the snake.
The boy was successfully rescued without harm and swiftly transported to a hospital for evaluation. The government has announced that a cash reward will be given to the 40 personnel who participated in the operation for their bravery and teamwork.
