In a prompt response to a potential threat, authorities have successfully neutralized a rusted mortar shell discovered in the Arnia border belt of Jammu district on Wednesday. The timely operation averted any danger to the public, according to police sources.
The suspicious find was reported by the Treva Border Police Post in charge, leading to a swift deployment of Inspector Chandan Singh and a bomb disposal squad team. They arrived at the scene in Treva village to assess and manage the situation.
Following established Standard Operating Procedures, the unexploded ordnance (UXO) was destroyed on the spot with all necessary precautions. The operation saw the collaboration of BSF personnel, ensuring the complete safety of the surrounding community.
