Heightened Security Marks Anniversary of Operation Sindoor

In commemoration of the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, security forces have ramped up measures along the International Border and across the Jammu region, according to officials on Wednesday. Extensive searches by the Special Operations Group (SOG) and intensified vehicle checks by police teams form part of the heightened security approach in multiple locations.
The strategic operations aim to sustain law and order as a safeguard measure. Last year, on May 7, India had executed Operation Sindoor, launching precision air and missile attacks on terrorist facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, in retaliation to the April 22 terror massacre in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians lost their lives.
Following the attack, security further tightened at border areas with Pakistan, combining manual patrols and advanced surveillance equipment to ensure ongoing vigilance, officials added.
